Road station

Tomba

Listen to the story

Tomba is probably a ghost: today it is mostly explained as a faulty double of Tonea, which the map draws nearby. It seems not yet to have stood on the older source map shared with the Ravenna list, which calls that source Castorius. The mapmaker apparently added a second road list for the same route from Tavium, with some different stations and spellings, took it for a different road and drew the route a second time, so that this station and the ones after it repeat places already on the map. Older research still treated it as a station of its own.

Fully based on scientific information from TP-Online (KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt).
