Road station
Ubinnaca
Malır Hüyük ?
Ubinnaca appears in no other source than this map. It was a station on a diagonal road across Lycaonia, in hilly country at the edge of the salt steppe near Sultanhanı, probably the mound of Malır Hüyük, where pottery reaches back to the Middle Bronze Age and is especially plentiful from Roman times, when the place was much larger than before. Road and village were probably abandoned in early Byzantine times. Here the mapmaker ran short of room, stacked the station names one above the other and put a small dent in the road. The smudged figure on to Salaberina reads thirty or, more likely, twenty-nine miles.
