Road station
Salaberina
Kepez Tepe bei Gideriç südl. von Taşpınar
Salaberina is split in two on the map, Salabe and rina, by a fold in the parchment. The whole stretch shows a mapmaker running out of room: having misjudged the length of the road, he stacked station names above one another instead of in a row and gave the road line a small dent, so this station landed beside an unnamed drawing of two towers that stands for Colonia Archelais, now Aksaray, though it really lay to the south. It is the Salambriai of Ptolemy, placed on Kepez Tepe near Gideriç, a flat-topped hill like a natural acropolis, strewn with mostly Roman pottery.
