Road station

Sahal

Carrhae

Sahal was a stop on the road from Charris, the ancient Carrhae, to Ressaina, thirty-two Roman miles from the one and thirty-five from the other. The map gives it nothing but its name, without a drawing. The Ravenna list writes it as Salar, and older research placed the station at the mound of Tell Sahal, where the old name seems to live on.
