Road station

Simitta

Listen to the story

Simitta was a road station twelve Roman miles, about eighteen kilometres, from Sathena and thirty from Vicus, marked on the map by its name alone. The ruins of Ras el Ain, also known as Mushit Punari, have been proposed as its site. Several older copies of the map get the name wrong, reading Simtita.
