Road station

Banata

Listen to the story

Banata lay twenty-four Roman miles from Thelbon and twenty from Aladin. Older research took it for Batnae, the town that already stands on the map as Batnis, and placed the station at Harapkalk, close to Ain el Bati; later research gives that role to Sathena instead. Either way, the map seems to show one and the same city more than once.
