Road station

Thiar

Cerdo

Thiar was a stop on the road from Zeugma towards Batnis, twelve Roman miles from Zeugma and thirty-two from Batnis. It is probably the Daiara that Isidore of Charax names in his Parthian Stations, a place on the right bank of the Euphrates. The map does not mark where this stretch of road begins; the river crossing drawn on it may stand for the start. Older research looked for Thiar at Mengele, also known as Chan Teye.
