Thiges
Henchir-Ragoubet (Barrington) · Tadjûs, Kriz Tagjus (Miller)
Thiges, which the Roman writer Pliny calls a free town of the Tigenses, lay at the northern edge of the Triton lake in southern Tunisia, on the road from Gabès to Thelepte. The geographer Ptolemy calls it Thige, the Ravenna list Tices, and it is also known as Castellum Thigensium, the fort of the Thigenses. The map counts fifteen Roman miles from Speculum and twenty-five on to Thusuros, the oasis of Tozeur, though where that last stretch begins is not marked. Only scant remains and some inscriptions survive.
