Vicus Gemellae
(Henchir-Sidi-Aich, 25 miles N Gafsa) (Barrington) · Sidi Aich (Miller)
Vicus Gemellae, the village of the twins, lay in Africa Proconsularis on the road between Thelepte and Capsa, the modern Gafsa in Tunisia, at Henchir Sidi Aich. The name is badly damaged on the map: the first letter looks like a very distorted capital V, the next may be a small i, and the letter once read as a g has a bar across its top, which makes a t more likely. The Roman register of routes knows the place too, and the Ravenna list calls it Pago Gemellin.
