Vico Valeriani

Vico Valeriani means 'at the village of Valerianus', a vicus being a village or roadside settlement. It lay on the road that turns east at Vatari, on the border of Africa Proconsularis and Numidia, twenty-five Roman miles, about thirty-seven kilometres, beyond Vatari and eight short of Ad Arvalla. The start of that last stretch is not marked on the map, and the site itself has never been found.
