Vidubia

(road station N Cabillonnum)

Vidubia was a station of the Aedui on the road from Langres to Lyon, named after the river Vouge, on whose banks it stood. It is placed at Saint-Bernard-lès-Cîteaux, west of Nuits, where excavations in 1866 brought many ancient fragments to light and traces of a Roman road were seen; older suggestions were Nuits itself, Vosne and the crossing of the Vouge near Villebichot. A modern atlas still leaves the site open. A milestone found at Beaune counts twenty-three leagues, perhaps from Autun.
