Road station

Bandritum

Basson (Miller) · Bassou (Barrington)

Bandritvm was a station on the road from Sens to Auxerre in Burgundy, at a crossing of the Yonne near Bassou and Bonnard. The name can be followed through the will of Vigilius, bishop of Auxerre, who died in 684 and left a villa called Bonartum on the river Yonne; later the place appears as Bonus Hortus, the good garden, and as Bonarditum, from which Bonnard comes. Some copies of the map read the name Baudritum.
