Barantea

Horasan

Barantea, a town of Greater Armenia on the road from Satala to Artaxata, is placed at Horasan in eastern Turkey. Older research put it at the crossing of the Euphrates, or at the ruins of Ahlat at the western end of Lake Van. On the map it is a plain name, thirty Roman miles from Ad Confluentes and sixteen from Andaga.
