Barbare

Mohammed Khan

Barbare lay forty Roman miles from Edessa and ten from Minnocerta, and is placed at Mohammed Khan. The Ravenna list seems to have broken its name in two: it names a town called Bara between Edessa and Nisibis, followed at once by an otherwise unknown Beta, and together the pair probably make up Barbare. On the map the start of the next stretch of road is not marked.
