Charmodara

Kocan

Charmodara was a town on the western bank of the Euphrates, where the Marsyas flows in, and is probably the Cholmadara that the geographer Ptolemy places in Commagene, a region of Syria. It is identified with Kocan. The map counts thirty Roman miles from Heba and twelve, about eighteen kilometres, on to Samosata, the seat of a legion.
