Carbanum

Carbanum, a bare name on the road, is the last stop the map gives before Samosata; it counts four on to that city and two back to Perre. Older research placed the station at Eski Samsur. The Ravenna list writes Caranon, the Byzantine chronicler Cedrenus knows it as Karbar, and the geographer Ptolemy has a similar name, Karpzelis.
