Thalama

Thalama was the last stop before Edessa on the road from Hierapolis, twelve Roman miles from Halia, yet the map gives no figure for the final stage into Edessa and does not even mark where it begins. The Ravenna list calls the place Thatama. One suggestion puts it at the ruins of Tell Shabaka, close to Urfa, the city that grew out of ancient Edessa.
