Road station

Thamaudi

Thamaudi was a stop on the road through Mesopotamia, thirty Roman miles from Arcamo and sixteen from Nisibi, and the map gives it a bare name with no drawing. The Ravenna list calls it Thamuri. Older research compared it with Thannuris, a fort where, according to a late Roman list of garrisons, locally raised mounted archers were stationed, and placed it at Kassere Ahmedi; its site has never been securely fixed.
