Thantia

Thugrat al-Jubb? (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Thantia, called Thainata in the late Roman army lists, was the base of a cavalry regiment. Its site is probably Thugrat al-Jubb, though older research looked for it at El Chab. Like its neighbours on this road it is just a name with no picture. The map counts nine Roman miles from Hatita and twenty-four on to Bostra, and on that last stretch the road crosses the river Heromicas.
