Mehamla am Sebkret Sidi Mansur (Tunisia), Africa Proconsularis

Thasarte stood on the road from Tacape, now Gabès, to Capsa, now Gafsa, at Mehamla beside the salt flat of Sidi Mansur in Tunisia, north of the Chott el Djerid, where extensive Roman ruins have been found. Here the map spells out the stages in widely spaced capitals: from Veresvos to this station eighteen miles, and from here to Silesua twelve, a stretch that is drawn as two. The Roman register of routes lists the station as well.
