Silesua lay on the road running inland from Tacape, now Gabès, towards Capsa, now Gafsa, at Biar bou Loufa in Tunisia. The map names it in its distance notes, written out in widely spaced capitals: from here to Ad Aquas nineteen miles, and to Avibus eighteen. In the second note the copyist left a wide gap inside the word for miles to avoid a drawing just above it. Where the name first appears it is damaged, but its repetition makes the reading certain.
