Rhose is written in capital letters on the map, and what lies behind it is a puzzle. One reading takes it for a miswritten Bostra, which would then appear twice on this road; the other puts it on the same road south of Bostra, at Ed-der. The little kink in the road line that marks a stop is drawn just after the name instead of before it. The map counts twenty Roman miles on to Chanata, while the forty given from Hatita probably cover the whole way to Gadda.
