Ridumo

Honiton (Miller) · Devon (Barrington)

Ridumo is the end of Moridunum, a station in Devon fifteen Roman miles from Isca Dumnoniorum, today Exeter; like several names on this edge of the map, it lost its first syllable to the missing first sheet. The name has been explained as sea fort. Its site is unknown: it has been sought at Honiton, and at Seaton or Sidmouth on the coast. On the map the name and its distance figure are written unusually, running vertically, and no road leads to it from the lost part of the map.
