Ritumagus

Radepont sur l´ Audelle

Ritvmagvs is Ritumagus, a station on the road between Rouen and Paris, in the land of the Velocasses, probably at Radepont on the Andelle in Normandy, though Lion, Ry and Romilly have also been suggested. The Roman register of routes lists it on its road from Paris to Rouen. Its name ends, like many in Gaul, in magus, a field. On the map it is placed just after a river crossing, and the stretch that follows has no marked start.
