Road station
Riobe
Provins
Listen to the story
Riobe is one of the busiest junctions on this part of the map, with three roads coming in and one going out, yet it has no town symbol, perhaps because there was no room for one. Where it lay is uncertain: Provins, Jaulnes-lès-Bray on the Seine and Orby have all been proposed, and a modern atlas leaves it unlocated. At Jaulnes a stretch of Roman road is still visible and finds have been made. The map's figure on the road towards Sens seems too high for any of these places.
