Macharta

Kızıltepe

Macharta is placed at Kızıltepe in Turkey, and the map sets it twenty-eight Roman miles from Rene and twenty-four from Nisibi, marking it with nothing but its name. The town went by other names as well, Tiberiupolis and Monokarton. The Ravenna list writes it Manacarta, and it was once sought in the area of Amudi or on the river Buron.
