Magabula

? im Stausee bei Akarçay, ehem. Meğelli, im Bezirk Almus

Magabula seems to live on in a village name: Meğelli, as Akarçay in the Almus district of Turkey was formerly called, apparently preserves the ancient Megalula, and the map's distances fit the spot. If so, the station stood on the right bank of the upper Iris, on the road from Comana Pontica to Nicopolis. The geographer Ptolemy lists it as Megaloula, an inland town of Pontus. Nearby, at Kadıköprüsü, a bridge with perhaps ancient foundations stood until the late 20th century; today village and bridge lie beneath a reservoir, and the ancient site probably does too.
