Magia, a Celtic name meaning field, is known only from this map, and its site is still argued over: Balzers and Schaan in Liechtenstein, the castle hill of Gutenberg, the Luziensteig pass and Maienfeld in Graubünden have all been proposed. An inscription naming a customs post, the statio Maiensis, was once claimed for it, but it belongs to Mais near Merano in South Tyrol.
