Maniliana

Vignale [5] · bei Montioni vecchio [2 · 3]

Listen to the story

Maniliana, correctly Manliana, was a station on the coast road near Populonia, at Vignale or near Montioni in the Maremma, and its name comes from a Roman family, the Manlii: a tombstone from Populonia names a freed slave of the family, Titus Manlius Apollodorus. It is not to be confused with another Manliana near Siena. On the map the distance to the next station has slipped to the start of the following stretch.
