Road station

Seramisa

? bei Gözova, ehemals Omala ?

Seramisa actually lay on the road from Amasia by way of Comana Pontica to Neocaesarea, though the map's road lines do not show it. It is placed, with caution, at the ruins of Gözova, once called Omala. In the fertile plain nearby a hexagonal water basin of Roman or Byzantine date was found in 2004, high above the Iris and within sight of the famous sanctuary of Ma at Comana Pontica. Two Roman milestones from the area date from AD 235 and later.
