Serione
Cérons?
Serione, more correctly Sirio, was a stopping place on the road from Bordeaux to Agen, where the road crossed the Ciron, a river flowing into the Garonne from the left. It is sought near Barsac or Cérons, a village called Seron in the fourteenth century. The pilgrim from Bordeaux lists it as a mutatio, a place to change horses, and the Roman register of routes also knows it. The name probably comes from the river and looks more Iberian than Celtic. The map's figure from Bordeaux is too small.
