Senomago
St. Paul Trois Châteaux oder La Palud (Miller) · St-Pierre-de-Sénos (Barrington)
Senomago is a Celtic name meaning the old field, the opposite of the common Noviomagus, the new field. It was a halt on the road along the east bank of the Rhône between Orange and Acunum, in the land of the Tricastini, but its site is disputed. Older research proposed Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, the chief town of the Tricastini, and even wondered whether Senomago and that town were one and the same; others chose La Palud, Pont-Saint-Esprit or Saint-Pierre-de-Sénos. The list of places compiled in Ravenna garbles it as Bonomago.
