Road station

Sarbane

Gürkaynak, Sirvan

Sarbane, identified with Gürkaynak, lay ten Roman miles from Nisibis. The figure for the next stage is set down in an odd way: the twenty-eight miles to Sapham straddle the road line, with the twenty to the left of it and the eight to the right. Along that stage the road also crosses a river. Older research suspected that a whole station has dropped out somewhere before Sapham.
