Road station

Sarrum

Charmant?

Sarrum was a stopping place of the Santones on the road from Saintes to Périgueux. It is usually sought at Charmant, south of Angoulême; another suggestion is Montmoreau. Judging by its distance, it may have stood where the road crossed the river Lisonne. The map's figure back to Condate is too small unless a station between them has dropped out, and the double bend drawn in the road here makes that likely. The stretch on to Périgueux is drawn as two. Older copies misread the name as Sanym or Sarrym.
