Teumeuse
Tell Menis
Teumeuse is the Thelmenissus of Ptolemy, a place in Syria whose ruins lie at Tell Menis, near Marra; the Roman register of routes calls it Temmeliso, and the church historian Sozomen Telmisus. In late antiquity it may also have been known as Maratomyrton. The map counts twenty Roman miles on to Cani, and the figure from Apamia, written in an unusual way, is read as twenty-eight, where the register has twenty-five.
