Caena

ein Tepe nahe Uluören ?

A settlement mound near Uluören, a kilometre from Karakapu, may mark the site of Caena: potsherds lie there in plenty, with small building stones set in mortar, tiles and graves. The same name belongs to a relay station on the pilgrims' road between Tyana and the Cilician Gates, known to the Bordeaux pilgrim, and some think the map simply put that station in the wrong place. Such a slip would be hard to explain, since the map's other errors in Asia Minor usually have a clear cause, so a second Caena seems more likely. The Ravenna list writes Sena, perhaps a slip of the ear.
