Road station
Tycae
? Bürnük ?
Tycae appears only on this map and in the Ravenna list, as Tyce or Tice. The map sets it on a road along the Black Sea coast after Mastrum, Amastris, but it surely did not lie there: the mapmaker seems to have muddled the coastal city of Amastris with inland Amasia and shifted several places with it. Tycae probably belonged to the inland road from Ancyra to Sinope, perhaps at today's Bürnük, where a gravestone, column fragments and carved door stones have been seen in the village.
