Road station
Thomia
Gibelit · Gebelit
Thomia is usually equated with Potamoi, Greek for the rivers, a coastal landing where, according to an ancient sailing guide, small boats could enter the river mouth. It is placed at Gibelit, where fishing boats still run into the Gibelit Deresi and a second, smaller river reaches the sea just beyond a low ridge, which would explain the plural. No ancient remains are known. On the map the station lies inland, on a road that swings round in a loop that does not exist, simply to make room for all the stops before Sinope, and the next stretch is drawn as two.
