Tipasa

Tifech · Tifeh

Listen to the story

At Tifech in the hills near Souk Ahras in Algeria lie the few remains of Tipasa, a Berber town of Numidia, with traces on its acropolis and of its baths; it is not the better-known Tipasa by the sea near Algiers. Bishops of the town are recorded in the fifth and sixth centuries. The map places it twelve Roman miles, about eighteen kilometres, from Capraria and twelve from Ad Molas.
