Road station
Tranupara
?? Kratovo ?
Tranupara, known only from this map, was a station on a road that no other source records, from Stobi to Pautalia and Serdica through eastern Paeonia. Perhaps it lay at Kratovo in North Macedonia, where a walled hill with buildings, pottery, mine workings and coins from Trajan to Justinian has been found; others suggest Konjuh on the Kriva or a site near Štip. The mapmaker crammed the names so tightly here that it is unclear whether Tranupara comes before or after Astibo, and the road line on to Pautalia is not drawn at all.
