Trimamio

Mechka

Trimamio, Trimammium in the Roman register of routes, was a Danube fort of Lower Moesia near today's Mechka, between Iatrus and Ruse. A late Roman list of garrisons names its troops as soldiers of Constantine, and its ruins were long known near the village of Bergas. The map gives sixteen miles from Latro and twelve, about eighteen kilometres, on to Pristis, today Ruse; the register has only seven for that last stretch.
