Tuburbomaius
Henchir-Kasbat
Listen to the story
Tuburbomaius is Thuburbo Maius, at Henchir Kasbat in the fertile valley of the Oued Miliane in Tunisia. Originally a Berber town, it took on a strongly Punic character, and even under Rome some of its buildings served Punic cults. Hadrian made it a municipium and Commodus a colony that bore his name; it had bishops from 258 AD onward. On the map the distances around it are muddled, and a station seems to have dropped out.
