Prusa ad Olympum
Bursa
Prusa ad Olympum, Prusa at Olympus, is Bursa in Turkey, on a spur of the mountain above a fertile plain. The full Latin name turns up only once elsewhere, in a letter of Pliny the Younger, who also wrote about building new baths there on the site of a once handsome house now in ruins. The geographer Strabo credited the founding to a King Prusias who fought Croesus, while the elder Pliny names Hannibal; the town's coins honour Prusias the First, so it probably dates from around 188 BC, perhaps founded with the help of Hannibal, then a refugee at his court.
