Pristis

Rusé

Pristis is the map's short form of Sexaginta Prista, today Ruse on the Danube; the Roman register of routes writes Sexantapristis. A late Roman list of garrisons places there a commander of the river bank from the First Italian Legion, a cohort and a cavalry unit, and an inscription names the Second Flavian Cohort of Britons. The map gives twelve miles from Trimamio and nine on to Tegris, as the register does; one older copy reads eight.
