Praetorium

Tmed Hassan

Praetorium takes its name from an official lodging for people travelling on state business. The site is Tmed Hassan in Libya, where large ruins have been reported. The map counts eighteen Roman miles from Ad Ficum and twenty-six to Putea Nigra, and the Ravenna list, which writes both Pretorium and Pretorin, places it by the sea. On the same stretch the Roman register of routes has a stop called Auzui.
