In Monte Tauro

??? Namrun Kalesi · Çamlıyayla?

In Monte Tauro, on the Taurus mountain, is one of the map's mountain stations, which present a wild, hard-to-reach landscape as opened up and made safe by Rome. Only the Ravenna list, sharing the map's source, knows it, as Tauri. Its site is uncertain; one suggestion is Namrun Kalesi at Çamlıyayla, a Byzantine fortress at the foot of the Taurus, called Lambrun in medieval sources, on a spot already settled in Hittite times as Illubri. On the map a figure of thirty miles stands over an empty station mark, and then the road line fades and breaks off.
