Fines Cilicie
? Mindos Kalesi · Kayasaray ?
In the 1980s the last remains of an old fortress at Kayasaray collapsed and destroyed the village built over them; this may have been the site of Fines Cilicie, on the pass between the Konya plain and Mersin, where villagers still tell of passing caravans. The name means the border of Cilicia, here probably the frontier with Lycaonia, and on the map Cilicia's red lettering does begin just below it. One suggestion links the route with the road through the Cilician Gates, where the pilgrim from Bordeaux noted a border of Cappadocia and Cilicia. Like every road leading to Tarsus, the line breaks off abruptly.
