Road station
Fines
Aiguillon? o. Lamoulère? (Barrington)
Perhaps at Aiguillon, where the Lot flows into the Garonne, or at Lamoulère, lay the station the map calls Fines, on the road from Bordeaux to Agen. Older research also suggested Tonneins, Damazan and La Marque. Like its namesakes, the name means boundaries: such stations often preserve the border of an old Gallic people or of a Roman city territory where the road crossed it. Here the border may have been one between two late Roman provinces, since it is unclear to which of them the station belonged.
