In Monte Carbonario

Roccacerro (Miller)

Listen to the story

In monte carbonario, on the charcoal burners' mountain, lay near Roccacerro above Tagliacozzo, where the Via Valeria finished its crossing of Monte Bove and dropped steeply towards the Fucine basin; remains of the Roman road can still be seen on the heights. Together with the previous station it marks the two ends of the pass. The list of places compiled in Ravenna calls it Carbonarium.
