Road station
In Aronia
Makarska (Croatia)
Inaronia is really two words run together, in Aronia, with the Latin preposition for in fused onto the name, a form found nowhere else. The station lay at Makarska on the Croatian coast, later known as Muccurum and a bishop's seat from 533. The map gives it a small drawing of a farmstead, which probably marks a stop with a building and shelter rather than a bare halt on the road. The twelve Roman miles from the previous station seem too few, since the real distance is about twenty-four, so a station has probably dropped out on this carelessly copied stretch.
